London advertising hotshop delivers the goods for online gambling group
The 11 man London-based advertising hotshop Lean Mean Fighting Machine headed by creative director Dave Bedwood has won gold recognition at an international advertising festival for its Virgin Casino interactive video ad campaign.
Awarded the 2007 D&AD ‘Yellow Pencil’ award in Budapest, the campaign was based around a series ‘mangled’ interpretations of common casino terms, with consumers clicking a button to see the effects of casino words such as ‘Hit’ or Double Down’.
In the Telecoms, Media and Entertainment section, Gold was awarded to Lean Mean Fighting Machine with the judges praising the ".extremely well executed Virgin Games Casino campaign. The concepts behind the ads were praised for their humorous appeal and effectiveness. The judges did not feel that any of the other campaigns sufficiently pushed the boundaries of creativity to merit second or third prize in this category."
327 entries in total were received, 30 percent more than last year. However, only nine awards were given, from a possible total of 15, across five categories before a tough judging panel and I like that.
Although a small shop, LMFM's client list includes Emirates, Virgin Games, International Herald Tribune, The Economist and AOL. |
